1 Financial Aid 101

Description: Overview of the financial aid process and everything you need to know about the FAFSA.

Presenter: Stacey Malacara, Student Finance Specialist, Gateway Technical College

2 College 101: What You Need to Know to Survive College

Description: College survival tips and how to be successful in college. This presentation will focus on how college is different than high school and the overall student expectations held by instructors and the campus community.

3 The Right Career For You

Description: Students will be given a short assessment, we will dispel myths about career development, and discuss how to choose not only the right career, but also the best career pathway.

3rd Annual Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference
Held at MATC-North Campus in 2003 – “Education Equals Success”
» Conference Dates: October 24th, 2003
» Providing hands on career explorations to high school students.

2nd Annual Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference
Held at UW-Milwaukee in 2002 – “Gearing Up for a Bright Future”

» The conference was limited to one day to expose and provide information on higher education to high school students.

1st Annual Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference
Held at MATC Downtown and West Campus in 2001 – "Pathways to Colleges"
» Conference Dates: October 5th and 6th, 2001
» The conference lasted for two days. Friday was dedicated to educating high school youth on accessing higher education through a self exploration exercise. The second day was devoted to educating parents on how to help prepare their children for higher education.
