Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference
Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference

Letter to High School

Dear Principal and Faculty:

During the past 16 years, the Southeast Asian American community in Milwaukee has been working in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Gateway Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Alverno College and Milwaukee Public Schools to hold a one-day Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Conference. The 2017 conference will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Alverno College. Please see the attached “Save the Date” flyer.

The goal of the conference is to provide career and post-secondary educational opportunities exposure to Southeast Asian-American high school students. As such, college and university representatives from throughout the state as well as business professional representatives will be present at the conference to meet with students. The Committee strongly believes that the Southeast Asian-American students at your high school will greatly benefit from this conference and are strongly encouraged to attend.

The conference is free for students. In addition, the conference will be arranging transportation to pick up students from your high school if there are enough students signed up to attend the conference by the deadline.

Enclosed are the conference Registration Form and Scholarship Form. Please assist us in distributing the forms to your students. The form needs to be returned to their Guidance Counselors and submitted to Channy Rasavong by Friday, March 24.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Channy Rasavong (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) 414-229-3921.
