Southeast Asian Youth Education & Career Scholarship

2017-2018 Academic Year

Scholarship Sponsors: Alverno College, Gateway Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Area Technical College, and Milwaukee Public Schools.

The Southeast Asian Youth Education and Career Scholarship Committee is pleased to encourage Southeast Asian students in their academic endeavors through the following scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded one time to three (3) incoming college freshmen for the 2017-2018 academic year. The scholarship is to be used specifically for full-time tuition and fees.

Amount of Award: Three scholarships available for qualified students for 2017-18 Academic Year. (You may apply for one scholarship only)

1) Significant Academic Improvement- $500

2) Academic Scholarship- $1,000

3) Leadership and Involvment Scholarship- $500

Minimal Eligibility Requirements (additional requirements vary by scholarship type):

  1. Southeast Asian (Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, Vietnamese, Refugee from Burma) ethnic background.

  2. Must be a permanent resident or citizen of the U.S.

  3. Must graduate from Milwaukee Public Schools or Chapter 220 by summer of 2017.

  4. Minimum grade point average of at least 1.00.

  5. Full-time undergradute enrollment at a two or four-year college or university.

  6. Must have participated in one of the previous S.E.A. Youth Education & Career Conference.

  7. Must be present at the conference event to receive the scholarship award.

Application Deadline: Post Marked by Friday, March 31, 2017.
